Full Bloom: Intimorphosis,
2018

Video, Performance, Textile, Poetry

“For the two sexes imply a multiplicity of molecular combinations bringing into play not only the man in the woman and the woman in the man, but the relation of each to the animal, the plant, etc.: a thousand tiny sexes”

Deleuze and Guattari, A Thousand Plateaus, 1980

This video piece explores the potential queerness of relationships and the different possibilities that intimate relationships hold. It explores fluidity between friends and lovers and the ways in which relationships can be a varietal combination of asexual, sexual, reproductive, nonproductive, hetero, queer and exist  as ‘individuolovers’ (ones), ‘loverfriends’ (pairs), and ‘grouplovies’ (groups). Using text, a set and costumes with fantasy genitalia, I hoped to create an alternate version of reality with plantoids /half-human:half-plant people/ which embraces different forms of intimacy and fluidity regarding sexuality and gender.
